Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy is important to the North Carolina Cannabis Association (NCCA). We are committed to keeping your personal information confidential.

Why we collect personal information

The NCCA collects and uses personal information to provide individuals with news and information regarding the NCCA. In addition, we use personal information (e.g. e-mail address, city, and state) to keep e-mail subscribers up-to-date on the latest North Carolina cannabis news and information we think they'd like to hear about.

When we disclose contact information

The NCCA does not share any of your personal information at any time with any organization. Given that the NCCA is an umbrella organization, we may contact you on behalf of another (member) organization doing work related to cannabis. These communications will be sent by NCCA personnel via the NCCA's emailing list. Your personal information will only be handled by NCCA employees who are knowledgeable of all rules and policies regarding securely handling all information. They will protect your personal information in accordance with the NCCA's Privacy Policy.

The NCCA allows other organizations to contribute content to emails sent to individuals on its emailing list. In these cases, no personal information is delivered to third-party mailing houses for that organization's mailing. Instead, member organizations use the NCCA's web-based mailing list manager to add their email content without accessing or editing the actual emailing list. To request that we remove you from the NCCA emailing list for any reason, please contact ncca@CannabisNC.org or visit CannabisNC.org/email.

How we protect your personal information

The NCCA safeguards the security of the data you send us with physical, electronic, and managerial procedures. We urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet.

The NCCA uses industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on all Web pages where donations are submitted. To make donations to the NCCA or organizations supported by the NCCA, you must use an SSL-enabled browser such as Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later, or Internet Explorer 5.0 or later. This protects the confidentiality of your personal and credit card information while it is transmitted over the Internet.

Access to your personal information

If you would like your personal information updated or modified, you can contact ncca@CannabisNC.org with your request. If possible, please include full name, postal address, phone number, and the e-mail address at which you receive messages from the NCCA.

Collecting other personal information

When you browse the NCCA's web site, you are able to do so anonymously. We do not collect personal information when you browse --- not even your e-mail address. We do monitor site traffic and viewing habits.

Unlike many web sites, the NCCA's web site DOES NOT use "cookie" technology. This information is often used to determine the last time someone visited a site in an effort to personalize your site visit. The NCCA views this technology to be a danger to privacy, and therefore uses alternative server-side technology to save user content safely.

Our organizational commitment to privacy

The NCCA does not knowingly solicit personal information from children or send them requests for personal information.

The NCCA's web site contains links to other sites. The NCCA does not share your personal information with those sites, nor is NCCA responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to learn about the privacy policies of those organizations.
